　昨年エンゼルスで史上初の2度目の満票でMVPを獲得し、このオフ、ドジャースに移籍した大谷翔平投手（29）が27日（日本時間28日）、ニューヨーク州マンハッタンのホテルで行われた全米野球記者協会（BBWAA）ニューヨーク支部主催の晩さん会に出席した。99回目の開催となった伝統あるイベントには5年ぶりの出席で、全て英語で約2分間のスピーチを行った。

　BBWAA，　thank　you　for　hosting　such　a　great　event　and　always　making　us　feel　welcome.　To　all　the　writers　who　voted　for　me.　Thank　you.

　This　MVP　award　is　very　prestigious　and　winning　this　award　mean　the　world　to　me.　So　a　deep　appreciation　goes　out　to　all　of　you　that　voted　for　me　to　win　this　AL　MVP　award.　To　my　fellow　recipients.　Congratulations　to　all　of　you　that　in　the　years　you　had.　And　for　some　of　you　up　here，like　that　as　you　had.
